Episode 13 - "Visitors" - 9.4.22
The party finally confronts Gias on his crimes against the town of Greenest and the undead militia that moments ago attacked in the cemetary. Not liking the fugitive's attitude, Dorugul and Rowan attempt to get within melee range, and Talik and Drift attempt to stop them. Unsuccessful in holding onto Dorugul, Drift uses his levitate magic to lift Gias 10 feet into the air and out of the reach of the two tanks' melee range. Gias agrees to manacle himself in exchange for the group's listening ears. Growing tired of the smarmy replies, Rowan makes the move to bring Gias to the ground; however, the fugitive quickly maneuvers out of reach by transporting two hundred feet across the cemetary, manacles still in hand. Bidding the adventurers' goodbye, Gias then uses magic to transport out of sight. After looting the now un-trapped mausoleum and finding the stolen items from town along with a mysterious glass cage filled with chromatic lights, the party decides to move towards the Citadel to look for the missing undead skeletons and horse that wandered away during battle. Unable to locate any signs of the missing encounter, they inform Sgt. Rock Brodan of the incident, and in turn, he sends his guards out to deal with the potential threat. Before leaving Furret to spend the night in a Citadel cell, the group shares with Brodan the missing items, as well as their concerns about a potential corruption of drug trafficking within the town leadership. Brodan promises to take the missing items to Nighthill and share with him the information regarding Gias' last known appearance. The group minus Furret heads back to the tavern to eat dinner and discuss options for the trial in the morning. Before going to bed, Drift with Riggie's assistance hides the incriminating trading document from Nighthill's office in a loose floorboard in the tavern bathroom. Meanwhile, Furret is left for the evening in a cell with an imprisoned local clothes-eating goat. Fearful that his new roommate might eat his hair in the night, Furret attempts to keep the goat occupied in the far corner. Sometime during the early morning hours, Furret is visited briefly by Gias who chats with him about the Silverhands family, hoping to learn more about Furret to determine whether it is worth the fugitive's time to help him. |
